The ancient city of Catania has much to offer the unsuspecting
visitor. Sicily’s second largest city is not only the
commercial and industrial heart of the eastern part of the
region but is also a truly fascinating treasure trove of history,
culture and architecture.
As you can see from the map below, the historical and commercial
centre, emanating from the Basilica Duomo of Sant’Agata
and Via Etnea, is situated slightly inland, while the city’s
main transport terminals – the Train Station and long-distance
Coach Park are located nearer the coast and the Port of Catania.
The Hotel Residence La Ville Catania is perfectly situated
between the city’s Train Station and the main drag of
the historical centre. Both are easy walking distance from
the hotel door, making for easy access to the beach, the vibrant
heart of the town and of course, to other nearby towns in
Sicily.

The Hotel La Ville is about a 10 minute walk from Catania
Centrale Train Station following the map above, which we suggest
you print out to help you. The nearest Airport is Catania
Fontanarossa which is about 5 km outside the city centre.
Regular public transport links the airport to the train station
and coaches from other Sicilian towns such as Messina, Palermo
and Siracusa also arrive at the central station. The train
from Rome takes about 10 hours and is best done overnight.
If driving in Sicily, we strongly recommend you use a reputable,
preferably international car hire firm.
